Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: 8.1.7.3 - Good or Bad ~~ Upgrade 8.0.5 to 8.1.7.3
I have been on Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.3.0 - 64bit
Production since March on a Sun Enterprise 3002 Sparcv9 processor Solaris 8
running 64-bit kernel. Only issue so far is unable to login as SYS except
with AS SYSDBA option. Which has been fine, nice security feature, until I
attempted a 9iAS install which asks for the SYS password on the Portal
Configuration Assistant screen and then errors since it cannot connect
without the AS SYSDBA option. I have a TAR with Oracle. By the way, I have
O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=TRUE as per the 9iAS Release Notes Known Issues.
