Re: I need to change the instance name

Well, if it's an 8i database and the need exists to change the database name for cosmetic reasons, you could not change anything and simply add DEVELOPER as one of it's service_names in init.ora. Then connections would be accepted as either DEVELOP or DEVELOPER, no surgery required.
