Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Number of concurrent users
Hi
I've got a couple questions regarding the number of concurrent users in "real" life apps:
Up to how many concurrent users does it make sense to have everybody connect to the oracle instance directly via SQL*NET ?
When does it make sense to switch to a multi tier plattform with application server (connect only through app server, connection pooling etc.) ?
Would you recommend to use MTS instead of dedicated server ? If so, is there a certain threshold as far as the number of connections where it makes sense to switch from dedicated to MTS ?
How does Oracle Connection Manager fit into the big picture ?
Regards,
Stefan
