One point that I haven't seen brought up yet is the diminishing returns you
get with multiple CPUs, especially Intel. Doubling your CPUs won't give you
100% more CPU power. Going from 1 to 2 CPUs, you can expect better than 90%
scalability (probably 95%), but after that the curve drops.
What a crock! You get charged twice as much for licensing when you can only reach a *theoretical* 90-95%. And according to one Sun whitepaper (http://www.sun.com/software/white-papers/wp-dhbrown99/), WinNT will give you just 35% linearity. At double the licensing price. Granted, the paper is a few years old now...
