Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Locally managed tablespaces/What a DBA can do ?
I am looking into locally managed tablespaces, have done some research, and
have a basic
understanding of how they work, but I am unsure about the benefits if any
for my environment.
I have multiple instances running, one for each application. In some cases these apps just have two tablespaces, data and index.
If I have a tablespace that is composed of tables that are various sizes and activity, will LMT help or hinder ?
I have read the paper about creating tablespaces based on extent size,
which is the concept
I would follow, but I am unsure how the vendor(s) would feel if I re-org'd
their database(s).
Thanks
Darren
