RE: How to find out Oracle patch applied

In the $ORACLE_BASE/oraInventory/logs directory look for ' Patch' string in the installActions*.log files.
You may find it there... Then you can view that install log file for more info.
If those log files aren't there, then you are left with the Oracle Installer to tell you..

Is there any Oracle file I can use Unix command "strings" to search for version/patch info? I don't have x-window session.
