Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Oracle Transparent Gateway
Peter,
I used it briefly a couple of years ago. It certainly works well enough. The problem I had related to password administration. When you set it up in Oracle, you need to provide the password to an id on the OS/390 system. Our OS/390 system requires us to change passwords every 30 days. This meant we had to make a corresponding change to the database link in Oracle. We are no longer using the product.

Thanks to the people who tipped me off to this product.

will do what I want it to do (i.e. extract data from DB2 on
O/S390 into Oracle 8.1.x on UNIX).
If anyone on the list has actual experience doing this I would be interested in your feedback.
