Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> oraInventory
Hi -
Can anyone tell me if the oraInventory directory concept is still used with versions 8i and 9i? If so, I have a question. We have an installation of Oracle Express that contains the oraInventory directory (since it was installed long before Oracle on this server). They are now planning to move the Oracle Express software off of this machine so we can use it strictly for Oracle databases. Do I need them to keep that directory and oraInventory file on the server when they move? Can I recreate it? If so, how?
This is Sun Solaris 2.6, Oracle versions 8.1.5 and 8.1.7.
