Faster, maybe(?), but not as flexible in DML -- yet...
And, according to http://www.mysql.com/doc/B/a/Backing_up.html :
"There is currently no on-line or incremental backup tool available for InnoDB, though they are in the TODO list."
I would think that this would be more more important than performace for a 150GB production DB. Or do folks go with some 3rd party commercial tool like LifeKeeper? Or just pray a lot?

Actually, the most popular of the free databases is mySql, which is likely faster than MS Sql. It's faster than Oracle.
