exec shell command

Here is a good one for you, I have been doing something in my korn shell scripts which I really never understood and now need to change. :-)

I have the following line that sends the output from the shell script to a log file:
exec > db_heartbeat.log 2>&1

At the bottom of my shell script I now want to stop sending the output to the log file and instead print the log file to the screen.

Does anyone know how to turn of the exec line?
