I've looked at 8.0.5.0.1 and 7.3.4.1.0, and the CACHE column in DBA_TABLES view on each is the same, with those icky lpads.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't this value used to be 'CACHE' and NULL? That would explain the 5 char length. Anybody have 805 available to test it?
