Harvinder - The answer may depend somewhat on your platform. Have you considered Oracle's partitioning option (extra-cost)? Dennis Williams

Hi,

Is there is any drawback in using datafiles of big sizes. Our tablespace size is about 180G so does it okay to use data files of sizes 20G. Is > 20G or < 20G can give us some benefit.

Thanks
