Normally I don't forward reader emails that I receive, but in this case the problem seems to be urgent. Is there anyone using AIX on this list that might have a solution for Alex

We are installing Oracle 8i under AIX 4.3.3 but we encounter DISPLAY variable error.
It read something like 'Can't connect to fbsrv server as the value of DISPLAY variable. We followed the Oracle manual by defining DISPLAY=fbsrv:0.0 and enter the command export $DISPLAY. We also tried xhost +fbsrv command, but still we encountered the same error.

What shall we do? We need your help.

Thanks,
