Hi
John,
Thanks so much for ur
reply. I visited ur website and had a good idea of what to look
for
towards preparing the exam
and how to go about it. Also, the treatment of Logminer was
very useful for me
too.
I do not much experience in
PL/SQL too.......in our setup, they r mostly considered as a
developer's job and I
hardly have to actually write long and complicated programs and the
most I do is write a
trigger or procedure here and there to help me with my DBA work. I guess
I will face a hard time
passing this part of the exam as well.
I will b appearing for the
8i exams as I have mostly worked with 8i in my 4 years of experience
as a
DBA.
My company will reimburse
the cost of the exams too but only if I pass it :).
I will b starting off
preparing for the exams early next year, so I guess I will b appearing for the
first exam (which of course
will be the DBA Admin exam) some time in March or April......I have
to
find a convenient centre
too since I am based in Nottingham.
I will get the exam crams
from Amazon but the 8i exam crams r not readily available on Amazon at the
moment.
Thanks again and I will let
u know how I get along......am not really nervous about it but I find it hard to
find time
to actually sit down and
study specially for an exam of this nature....but I will have to manage
somehow.....wish
luck !!
Samir

RE: OCP tests
Hi Samir, I think the Exam Cram books
from Coriolus are OK. They do not cover everything, they are slightly
inaccurate sometimes but they compress and summarise what you need and they
are relatively cheap (£21 UKP) compared with others.
I have an article on my web site <A target=_blank
href="http://www.hcresources.co.uk">http://www.hcresources.co.uk which
covers my foray into the OCP world. You may find it interesting (there again
you may not... ). There are lots of resources on the web which are useful. The
brainbuzz site has some good stuff as well in the cramsession pages <A
