? ORA-04031

hello ...
i got the following error from a full export ...

        . exporting posttables actions
        EXP-00008: ORACLE error 4031 encountered
        ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4080 bytes of shared memory ("shared
pool","DBMS_REPCAT","PL/SQL MPCODE","B
        AMIMA: Bam Buffer")
        ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called

        ORA-06512: at line 1
        EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

i think it might have something to do with some failed rman backups, and the shared memory segments not being freed up ... but i would appreciate your help in resolving this problem ...
