Barb,

When you say 'recover on different hardware', I hope you mean that you will recover on another *similar* box that has the same OS and CPU architecture. I.e. a database that was on Sparc Solaris 8 cannot be recovered on a HP-UX box (or even a Solaris 2.6 box I think)... This is because of the byte-order and other differences.

Will be here for another hour or two - bleary-eyed myself since getting here at 9AM PST - completing an Apps monthend close...
