Yes, it can be dropped, but not sys (I recall doing this on a 7.3.x database
a long time ago).
Recovering it would be rather troublesome.
You can add it back and establish all its privileges, roles, grants, its
objects (run pupbld etc etc). Hope you have a list of such things....
Want to try it on your test db and post what you find out ? :)
