Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply.
Here the scenario is different. I am doing it for
the sake of testing, will put in production after
testing.
Sometimes due to involved complexities and available skills at location you have to be dependent on third party tools. I mean, the client has too many servers ( plus too much of data to be backed up) and they want to centralize this backup issue, which looks great isn't it?
Any more (more positive) replies are welcome.....

I haven't used this combination.
I'm assuming that you're attempting to perform the restore now out of
necessity, not out of testing.
Restore the files to some other directory and manually copy them to
local storage of the Oracle Server.
Recover the effected files manually.
Call ARCServe support in the morning.
This is why dependency on third party tools for backup and recovery is less than optimal.
