I would not use automatic undo management with 9i until they debug it. We had a posting a few weeks ago on bug 1904199 or a variant thereof. Here are the last few lines from the mail detailing the problem

Then one day on trying to reopen the database following

have u read the docs on the differences yet?

there is a bit to read about(as i'm going thru it all for a potential presentation on automatic undo management).

i think the verdict has not been decided yet as to whether its good or not as its too new for alot of people.
