Yes, many people experienced that before. Oracle 8.0 works on GLIBC 2.0 (there is a compatibility patch for GLIBC 2.1) and RH 7.1 is a GLIBC 2.2. Can you, please, downgrade your OS to RH 5.1 or install 8.1.7 or 9i ? Kindest regards!

I have succesfully installed oracle 8.0.5 on LINUX redhat 7.1 BUT when I
want to run sqlplus or lsnrctl it gives SEGMENTATION FAULT error. and
creates core dump files.
Why does this occur? Has anyone experienced this before ?
