Go to www.redcross.org the navigation panel on the left of the page has a link for donations. The Red Cross is involved in all areas of support in disaster relief (recovery, victim and family assistance, call centers for missing, blood, etc.) They will gladly and graciously receive your donation, and they will productively put it to use.

I'm so sorry to hear such bad news from the states. I'd like to transfer some money from my savings to abroad to a charitable institution/fund that will help people who were injured in the states.
