Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Apologies... linux & Oracle
All,
For starters, there is a bug in RH 7.1 and some Oracle executables are not linked correctly at link time. Here is the workaround:
Workaround:
1.Complete an installation 2. Login as an 'oracle' owner to the installed environment 3. delete '-z defs' from ldap/lib/ins_ldap.mk ldap/lib/env_ldap.mk sqlplus/lib/env_sqlplus.mk
We are working along with Oracle and RedHat to get 9i certified on Redhat.
Thx
Gautam

Anyone have luck with 9i on RedHat? I am sure the answer is yes as people
has mentioned trying.
Do they have it documented what is needed to be done to accomplish this?

Lora, lisa, what ever...
Oracle only supports SUSE 7.1 for Oracle 9i.
I use RedHat 6.2 with Oracle 8.1.7 and RedHat upgraded to 7.0 afterwards.
Works great but not supported. SCO was bought out by RedHat a while back I
believe. ROR mª¿ªm

Sorry everyone, I know you were just discussing this recently.
What is the most stable combination of Oracle & Linux? What would you recommend? I want to say the consensus was SCO Linux but I don't quite remember.
Thank you
