FreeBSD has some of the worst multiple processor thread support of all the linuxes, although it's IO if I remember well is pretty good.

I was thinking more along the lines of FreeBSD as optimal cost/benefit ratio. Now, if you can throw the Winders gui over a freeBSD codebase... Oh, wait, there is Mac OS...
