Not everyone can throw money/hardware at an OS's deficiencies.
Os deficiencies? It takes $60,000 server to run Solaris OK. In NT you get the same performance at about $5,000. Most of the deficiences are to the poor performance of the intel processor in comparison to the 64bit risc counterparts. Till you hit around $100,000 or more, do you see the real advantages of the unix platform.

Not everyone can throw money/hardware at an OS's deficiencies. Windows has a great interface, if it would only work as advertised.
I think the big desire is to see M$ tighten up their codebase, i.e., make everything work better and more reliably rather than packing in additional features that only one user in a million will ever use (and opening up 10 additional exploits in the process).
