We had the same thing not too long ago. Turned out to be a corrupt index block. You might try running DBVerify on all the datafiles. It will tell you if something is wrong.

I have oracle8.1.7 on Solaris 2.7.
I am getting following error message in my alert log.
"ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [dredseek()+388] [SIGSEGV]
[Address not mapped to object] [97552987] [] []"
and
"ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [12700], [80087], [121694549],
[23], [], [], [], []"
What could be reason?Please suggest.
