weight in ounces of the Sunday San Jose Mercury News Classifieds is avalid
measure of economic activity. At one point it was around 24 pages forIT jobs
but it recently has been down to 1-2 pages.A few years ago, despite the
positive outlook for careers in computerscience, students majoring in
computer science was down because of the geekstigma. The result was a
shortage in IT workers. Then came the Internetbubble and students began
jumping onto the computer science bandwagon. So...to ensure demand for our
services we should discourage student enrollment inthe computer sciences by
playing up the geek, propeller-head thing. :-)Got pocket

ORACLE-LAnother sign of the times is that ITI is closing its US
schools. For those who don't know - it is a computer training school. They
startedyearsago as a school in Atlantic Canada offering a 10 month
course. Later theyexpanded to few Canadian and US cities. Last year they
advertised on TV andradio about 400,000 unfilled positions in e-commerce
etc. andoffered-commercetraining. Yesterday I have heard that they are
scaling back...Witold-- Please see the official ORACLE-L
