This is a bit like book-selling: All you wanted to know about C++ and Oracle in 24 hours, including the Idiot's guide to the Mystery of Life and how to successfully avoid reincarnation with minimum effort. Avoid the mistake of having to live your life all over again! Just send us US$60 and believe in us and you will be saved.
Once you buy the book, or pay for the course, who cares if you don't come back? They have your money. The business is not based on return customers, they are aiming for people who want to make a quick career transition.
As for satisfaction guaranteed, I don't know what the customer-protection laws are like in the U.S. but reading some of the software disclosure legalese on some CD shrinkwrap, there don't appear to be any laws to protect consumers. It's good for the economy! We can't afford to slow down industry output...
To be fair, it's a competitive market for training schools. To stay afloat, they end up having to market the impossible.... like some software companies.
I always believed that vulnerable people tend to get taken advantage of because people only do what's right if the consequences are worse if they do what is wrong. It's not a will or character issue, it has more to do with entropy - to conserve energy, people tend to take the easy route. They run on autopilot most of the time, on habits.

-----Original Message----- Sent: 30 July 2001 20:57 To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L [small/Sacr I would be curious how one can obtain to be "amoung the best" after a single 7.5 hour course which I assume has an 1 hour lunch when most training does similar in about 80-180 hours. There is some smart people in this world, and I found out I am not one of them, but trying to tackle this list of objectives I just can't see possible in 6.5 hours.
