Joe,
I learned most of what I've done on RMAN from the Oracle manuals. Now on the brighter side, I've been passed draft review copy of a "pocket" guide for RMAN being written by Jonathan Gerrick for O'Reilly. I believe Jonathan is a part of the list. I gave the guide a rather cursory look over, while sipping the morning coffee Saturday, & it looks pretty good. If you can hold off a few more months (He wants comments back by Aug 6th) you may have an easier time.

Well looks like i've held off learning RMAN long enough, any pointers, good RTFM, etc.
