Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Off Topic: For Sale Sparc 5 170MHz capable of running 9i
Christopher,
What would the total cost be for an upgrade to 256Mb RAM, and a 10 gig disk? Same for 512Mb RAM.
Then of course there would be the cost of shipping it to the UK..
We are looking for a low range test box at the moment..
Cheers
Mark

If anyone is interested in a cheap machine to start playing with 9i with. I just got a lot of 100 Sparc 5's.
Standard configuration is:
HyperSparc 170MHz
64Mb Ram
Internal CDROM and Floppy
Turbo GX Video (13W Connector)
2Gb SCSI Hard Drive
I am putting them on ebay at $225 each. Which is less than they normally go for, but I just want to get rid of this shipment so I can get this lot of Blade 1000's.
To run Oracle 9i, I would recommend increasing the ram and disk. Which we have both.
Sorry about the off topic, I know a few people mentioned they were looking for some machines.
