The alert log does not capture anything it considers to be a user error.

>>>Hi List,I have encountered a little strange incident.
Here is a brief:I ran a package which runs every day early in the morning.  I create a logof the process through the spool command.Today my package didn't run.  It had an error saying 'ERROR at line 1: ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded' .  Anyway, not abig deal.  I think I eliminated the error. The thing that puzzles me is that error IS NOT in the alert log.  I had animpression that alert log would capture ALL of the errors occurring on thesystem.  Isn't it the case?Thank you for your support.Lyuda Hoska-- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: <A href="http://www.orafaq.com">http://www.orafaq.com-- Author:   INET: lhoska_at_calibresys.comFat City Network Services    -- (858) 538-5051  FAX: (858) 538-5051San Diego, California        -- Public Internet access / Mailing
