Hello,
Oracle 8.1.7 on Sun Solaris
Scenario: We have a table where we store the consolidated weekly numbers on the number of disconnects, reconnects, transfers etc. Our business week is from Wednesday to Tuesday and so each week has a number assigned to it. Also, the week doesn't span across months. So we have a total of 63 weeks for 2001. The table stucture is as follows:
activity_year number(4), number(2), company_code varchar2(10), channel_code varchar2(20), spectrum_code varchar2(4), subscriber_code varchar2(6), bop number(10), initial_add number(10), volun_disc number(10), involun_disc number(10).....
I need to partition this table in such a way that the data for a given year and week number should go to a specific partition. Searched Metalink and Oracle docs but didn't get an answer.
Is there a way to accomplish this without adding a date column to this table?
TIA
Prakash
