yes i do use it, and have used it here and at other companies. and i don't understand your ls comment. if i have :
/u02/app/oracle/d1/oradata
and do an ls -alsR i see everything i need. so folks what am i doing wrong?;-)
i find it easy to work with, easy to find everything for a given database, and easy to do backups with.
