I also could not get it to link. I started down a similar path that you did. I am going to wait now until the UNIX Admins apply the required patches.

Tom & All:
I have it 'mostly installed'...kinda like being 'mostly dead' (from The Princess Bride). The files downloaded OK. I think my PC unzipped them during the download, though, because when I ftp'ed them to the HP machine they were not in gzip format. I went right to the 'cpio' step and it worked.
The install went OK, up to the point of relinking the binaries. They won't
relink, and I cannot figure out the correct SHLIB_PATH/LD_LIBRARY_PATH
settings to get them to succeed. If, for example, I run
make -f ins_sqlplus.mk install
...from $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/lib, I get...
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Can't find library for -l:librt.sl
*** Error exit code 1
...as the error message. This file (actually a link) exists in the
/usr/lib directory. My SHLIB_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH variables
are both set, and point to...
/ofa/u02/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/lib32:/ofa/u02/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/li
b:/lib:/usr/lib
...so I'm still scratching my head, too.
Any ideas?
Thanx,
Mike
P.S. The unzipped file sizes are as follows:
624781312 Jun 11 15:42 901hp64_disk1.cpio 647518208 Jun 12 09:57 901hp64_disk2.cpio 388174848 Jun 12 12:24 901hp64_disk3.cpio

Has anyone gotten it to work? I have a suspicion that it is for 32 bit instead of 64 bit. My download file sizes are: disk1: 587,823,750 disk2: 647,038,861 disk3: 341,722,333 Are these the same sizes that the rest of you are getting.
