solaris - no utmpx entry !

List,
we are suddenly getting "no utmpx entry" "you must exec login from the lowest leve"
message from solaris., when trying to connect using dumb terminals (or console) ...

as our solaris guy is not available... i need some suggestions on how to solve this..

• CANNOT log into any OTHER account also...
• have tried switching off /on the server... did not work..
