Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: sqlloader reserved word is column name
Directly from the "Oracle8i Utilities" manual
"Because the following words have special meanings for SQL*Loader, Oracle Corporation recommends that you do not use them as names for tables or columns. If you do use them, the names should be enclosed in double quotation marks. "

Can anyone help?
I am attempting to load a table, using SQL*Loader, where the table has a column named "PARTITION". Partition is a SQL*Loader reserved word and the load failed with: SQL*Loader-350 Expecting column name found "partition".
If anyone has a solution or workaround for this gotcha, I'd like to know what you have done.
Thanks very much.
