error 356 on oracle 7.3.2

hai gurus,
i am getting the error ORA-00356. the redolog file cannot be applied to the disaster site. i ran trace but could not find any thing.
oracle support could not give a proper answer.

does any one got this error before. what could be the possible reasons to cause this error.
