I have recently ran
an analysis on a table and when calculating the table size using
num_rows*avg_row_len this came out at about 420Mb. Nothing strange about that,
however the amount of space this table is taking up is about 4.6Gb
!!!!!

Instant case for a
reorg I thought, however, I am currently exporting this table and suddenlyn
oticed that the dump file is now in excess of 1.5Gb and still going strong.

Does export merely
backup the data or does it also backup other stuff (unused blocks, preallocated
etc.)
