Hi there!
I'm getting the weird ORA-12560: TNS Protocol Adapter error on 8.1.6 on Win2k (fresh install).
I created the database creation scripts and now want to run them. I can create the Oracle service with ORADIM, but when I try to connect to the database in NOMOUNT stage (as internal) through svrmgrl or sqlplus, I get the ORA-12560.
I checked the messages concerning that topic that have been posted on this list some time ago and I followed all the recommendations, but it is still not working...
I set oracle_sid=sid in my shell. I set the oracle_sid in the environment
tab of "my computer".
Then I added tns_admin to the registry.
Any other idea what could be wrong?
FYI: I had trouble installing the listener, so I added a second listener. But I can't start up the listener through lsnrctl... It says "starting listener" and then it hangs... But I can start the listener through the services control panel.
Weird...
This is 8.1.6 on Win2k.
Thanks,
Helmut
