ORA-7445 ERROR AND CORE DUMP

I am databse on sun solaris 2.7 and oracle8.1.6.I am getting the following error in alert log frequently.IS this error cause the database crash.Please help to come out from this problem.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [dredseek()+388] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [174652931] [] [] Errors in file /u01/app/oracle/admin/sam/udump/sam_ora_1508.trc Thanks in advance.
