cross post.
anybody real-world running a solution involving NT/oracle using a cluster solution or SAN? Compaq hardware?
I'm looking for price, storage capacity, throughput, chosen backup solution, tape library (??), applicable management software, availability/uptime measurement, etc...
history:
we've been tasked with coming up with a strong infrastructure to support an
incoming solution NT/oracle based and because of the importance being
attached I'm thinking our best option is some sort of cluster; one of my
peers is favoring a SAN solution mirroring our final configuration remotely
to cover failure. I'll admit my ignorance so if you have a knowledgeable
sales rep, give me their number because all I know is the basic concept
behind clustering, I have no idea about the feasibility or cost.
my other recourse beyond you is calling a vendor and talking it through with them but I always like a little extra information before calling a vendor.
