Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: What does _allow_read_only_corruption do?
Tom,
I have never used this parameter in the past, but I *believe* that this will allow you to open up your database in read only mode when you have got corruption in something like a system datafile or control files? Yyou can then take exports of the database to reload. Or something like that..
The gurus may have more info..

Yes,
I know it's a hidden parameter that should only be used at the advice of counsel and Oracle Support.
But has anyone used it?
