Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> LOG_ARCHIVE_BUFFER_SIZE
Morning listers,
Yesterday I was reading the Oracle Performance Tuning book, by Gurry &
Corringan, searching for info about how to tune the Archive process (ARCH)
to avoid archive bottlenecks. I found a note where it said:
"Enlarge the INIT.ORA parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_BUFFER_SIZE to a value such as 256 or 512 kilobytes. The parameter has a default on must machines of about 150 operation system blocks, wich is often inadequate for a heavily used production system"
The value was set to 127 in my production database, so I decided to try 256.
The database did not started after it was shutdown for the nightly backup. The error says the value must be between 1 and 128.
Any comments abou this???
Thanks in advance!!
