As far as your problem is concerned you need to create an instance with the NT instance manager, before even you try logging in as internal. Dont get this confused with the Oracle enterprise manager instance manager, this is a different component installed by oracle during the installation for operating system level functioning. You can port over the files after you have the instance in place and then change the parameters for the physical locations of the files in the text version of control file. And not to forget is to change the instance name of the database in the init.ora parameter file.
