Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: OT DBA Job at a Chocolate Factory
I always look back with fondness at my old SA/Programmer/Operator job at an environmental cleaning/testing facility.
Like when there was an explosion in the lab. I'm pretty sure that Chemist's arm is back to normal again after 11 years.
Like when I found out the site was a "Level 3" (or something) radioactive storage site. And Agent Orange, etc.
Like when they told me I had to stay in the computer room because they thought that the rebar in the concrete walls would protect me from the stray x-rays while they were testing a pressure tank for stress fractures down the hall.
Like when I came into work with a puke pail to get the system up and running and was threatened that I would be fired if I went back home when it was up.
And all for $16K/year. God, I miss that job.
Hey man, I just work here. :)
