This sounds like the memory leak/creep on our Compaq Alphas. It was a problem experienced under Tru64 40F with Oracle 8043. I was resolved when we upgraded to 8062. Maybe it's resurfaced in 8i.

We are running application over oracle 815 on Compaq 64 Bit m/c with Digital Unix. Here what we have observed is that the server is not releasing the memory once occupied.
