Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: ora 600
Kevin,
I have the same problem with 8.1.6 on NT.
It's probably this bug :
Problem statement:
ORA-600 INTERNAL ERROR CODE [17182] AFTER SETTING CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----
<SNIP>
.
]] Using cursor_sharing = FALSE could corrupt the CGA heap resulting in
]] Ora-600 [17xxx] errors or core dumps. This has been fixed.
.
Note that this has been fixed in 8.2/9i and so only applies to Oracle8i.

Neither 8.1.6.4 nor 8.1.7.2 is available yet (at least not on Metalink).
Greetings,
Frank
