I sure as heck hope not! There should be no sorting or any other user-activity in System besides the recursive sql needed to update the dictionary. Do you have your users temporary tablespace set to System??

If you are either sorting in System, or receving error messages about being unable to extend segments within System, go through your users default and temporary tablespace and set them to something outside of System.
