need details of ora-17412

I have a java appliation which uses Oracle Thin driver for 8.0.6. Some of the times it gives me error ORA-17412 "Bigger Type Length Than Maximum" and connection breaks up. It happens randomly..

Where can I get more details on it...And what should I do to fix it..

Will appreciate any help!!!
