The problem is that metalink.oracle.com is running Oracle_Web_Listener/4.0.8.2EnterpriseEdition on Solaris.
OAS is server centric, no middle or presentation layer, its all in the database. It basically sucks unless you want to web-enable forms.

last I heard it was clustered 6500's with 6 G of RAM.
I actually called client relations to let me know, and they have not returned the call.
Sun is good stuff, but the site has been truly flakey for a major corporation's flagship support center. <shrug>
