Well
said Jacques. I feel exactly the same about the political discussions. It is
alright stating that we have a delete key but why should I waste my money and
time in downloading mail which has absolutely nothing to do with Oracle when
this is supposed to be regulatd and moderated site.

discussions?
I enjoy talking
public affairs as much as the next person, but not on this list! The reason I
joined the mailing list is to learn about Oracle features, not to receive
e-mail after e-mail either praising the benefits of capitalism and decrying
socialism or to read manifestoes promulgating liberal
policies.

I know I can just
as easily hit the "delete" key, but when approx. 15% (my rough estimate) of
the messages on the list are from people trying to promote their political
agenda, I start to get weary of the issue.

If anyone is
interested in some internet message boards where they can discuss politics,
please e-mail me privately and I can point you in the right
direction.
